Battery bank increase for the solar system

Battery bank increase for the solar system was just installs, and it increased our storage capacity by 50%.
We went from 400 Amp Hours to 600 amp Hours.

The last project I worked on was insulating the batteries for an upcoming major winter cold snap (part 1 and part 2). While doing that, I made sure to make space for a new set of batteries I had ordered.

The day before the winter storm arrived, the batteries arrived and I decided to get them installed before the storm got here.

Since everything was ready to go, I just needed to remove the red and black cables to the system, add my 4 new batteries, wire them red to black, then connect my new 48 volt battery to the other 2 sets, and plug it back into the inverter/charger.

It sounded easy, and really and truly, it really was. Having that extra capacity has been really nice, especially as we’ve had a lot more cloudy days.

Don’t forget we’ll be at the Homestead Expo in Talala, OK on April 27. We’d love to see you there.
