Chores!

In this weeks video, I had some chores to do.

Mowing, gravel, and solar projects were all on tap for this 100 degree day.

Solar

First on tap was working on the solar panels.
We’ve had a problem where we can’t run the small window AC unit for more than 5-10 minutes most of the time.
Every once in a while it will run for hours, but that’ rare.
So, I came down with a multimeter to make sure all the batteries were good.
I also came down with 2 more batteries.

I determined that the 3 batteries were still in good shape and all had a good charge.
With that done, it was time to put the system back together, and add the 2 new batteries to my bank.
We have 5 – 12v 100ah batteries with a 3000 watt power inverter.
This should be more than enough to power the 730 watt AC unit for multiple hours with the no sun.

After rewiring it, it ran for over 4 hours without a problem on the hot clear sunny day. Once the sun started going down, it didn’t take long till we started having problems.

I did learn that all the wires between the batteries should all be the same length and size, so I’ll be making those changes in the future (before I used what I could buy)

Gravel

Not much to say here.
Since I was driving down to the cabin, I felt I should go ahead and take some more gravel to help smooth out the driver.

Mowing

Thankful, I was able to mow without breaking any windows.
Because I was letting the AC run and wanted to see how it went, I ended up mowing around the cabin and all the way down to the river.

Another day in the book, and we left it better than we found it.

Hope you enjoy the video
